第44届加美国际武术锦标赛    龙韵太极载誉而归

Just two weeks after hosting a successful World Tai Chi Day celebration, the Dragon Spirit Tai Chi Association / Long Yun Tai Chi once again achieved remarkable success on the international stage.

On Saturday, May 9, at the 44th Can-Am International Martial Arts Championships held at the Richmond Olympic Oval, the Okanagan team delivered an outstanding performance, earning five team trophies and an impressive 31 gold medals in the following events:​

Chen Style Essential 18 Forms

Tai Chi Umbrella

Tai Chi Sword

Daoyin Yangsheng 12 Methods

Seated Ba Duan Jin

Leading the team were Association President Linda Jia, an International Tai Chi Quan & Tai Chi Sword Instructor and International Wushu 5th Duan, together with Ray Qin, a 12th-generation Chen-style Tai Chi inheritor and successor of the Guolin Qigong anti-cancer method.

 

MLA Teresa Wat attended the event at the start of the competition to cheer on the team. She also attended the team’s celebration dinner, where she praised the athletes for their outstanding achievements and dedication.

 

Wat noted that Tai Chi is not only a valuable traditional exercise promoting health and wellness, but also an important treasure of Chinese culture. She encouraged the team to continue promoting Tai Chi throughout the Okanagan so more people can experience its cultural richness, health benefits, and positive lifestyle philosophy.

 

The team’s exceptional skill, discipline, and dedication were showcased throughout the championships, bringing pride to both the Okanagan community and supporters of traditional Chinese martial arts and wellness practices.

 

The association also warmly welcomes the public to join FREE Tai Chi and Qigong classes every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Kelowna City Park War Memorial Cenotaph. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

就在成功举办世界太极日庆典仅两周后,龙韵太极协会(Dragon Spirit Tai Chi Association / Long Yun Tai Chi)再次在国际舞台上取得辉煌佳绩。

5月9日(星期六),在列治文奥林匹克中心举行的第44届加美国际武术锦标赛(44th Can-Am International Martial Arts Championships)上,来自奥肯那根地区的代表队表现卓越,一举斩获5项团体奖杯及31枚金牌,参赛项目包括:

• 陈式太极精要十八式
• 太极伞
• 太极剑
• 导引养生十二法
• 坐式八段锦

带领团队参赛的是协会会长Linda Jia(贾琳达)——国际太极拳、太极剑教练,国际武术五段,以及秦磊(Ray Qin)老师——陈式太极拳第十二代传承人、郭林气功抗癌功法传承人。

比赛开始时,省议员Teresa Wat亲临现场为队伍加油助威。她还出席了赛后的庆功晚宴,并高度赞扬运动员们所取得的优异成绩以及长期坚持训练所展现出的精神风貌。

Wat表示,太极不仅是一项促进健康、强身健体的传统运动,更是中华文化的重要瑰宝。她鼓励团队继续在奥肯那根地区推广太极文化,让更多人体验其中蕴含的文化魅力、健康益处以及积极向上的生活理念。

在整个比赛过程中,队员们以精湛的技艺、严谨的纪律和全心投入的精神,充分展现了团队风采,为奥肯那根社区以及热爱中华传统武术和养生文化的人士赢得了荣誉。

 

协会也热忱欢迎公众参加免费太极与气功课程。课程于每周四、周六和周日上午7:00至8:30,在Kelowna City Park战争纪念碑(War Memorial Cenotaph)举行。无论年龄大小或是否有经验,均欢迎参加。
